Wellness Boxes for NHS
1575. Ben Hogbin
Ben Hogbin, from Hampshire, is a wellness practitioner who, with the help of his two young children, has gifted over 100 Wellness Boxes to NHS staff who need a pick-up.
Ben is the founder of ‘Discover Wellness’ who helps NHS leaders empower their most important assets with the framework and tools to keep themselves well. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, he has been regularly delivering wellness boxes for free which include items such as a copy of ‘The Little Book of Kindness’, packs of tea and hot drinks, and toiletries, as a way of saying thank you to NHS staff and helping to promote the importance of wellbeing.
In a personal letter to Ben, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said:
“I wanted to write to thank you for the hundreds of wellness boxes you have gifted to our fantastic NHS staff.
“From tea to toiletries and a copy of your book ‘The Little Book of Kindness’, your wellness boxes are packed full of little pick-me-ups. The handwritten notes from your children, Rory and Isla, are also so important to remind those who care for us to care for themselves.”
Ben said:
“I am truly humbled to receive this award – the wellness boxes were just my little way of saying thank you to NHS staff who were giving so much of themselves to others. The gifts and handwritten messages by my children inside the boxes were a gentle reminder for them, to not forget to look after themselves.”
